Luigi&Luca present the central aspect of their work in the exhibition: -Re ad presentare- (the entymology of the word represenation). These images on the borderline of fashion and art present their relationship as a stage where the artistic duo understand the world and reality through the act of shaping it. This re-presentation reflects an idea rather than reality itself by describing the signs that Luigi&Luca reorder through digital manipulation and the mise en scene of themselves.

"Das photographische Oeuvre von Luca & Luigi, zweier junger zeitgenössischer italienischer Künstler, welches in enger persönlicher Zusammenarbeit in unter-schiedlichen Werkabschnitten in den letzten Jahren entstanden ist, ist ungewöhnlich, innovativ, sowohl was die Form, den Inhalt, jedoch auch die Produktionsweisen der Bilder betrifft.
Anders als bei Gilbert & George, Pierre & Gilles oder Mc Dermott & Mc Gough – alle ebenfalls Künstlerpaare, die in dem Schaffensprozess ihrer Werke gemeinschaftlich agieren, sind im Falle von Luca & Luigi beide Protagonisten Aufnehmende, einer photographiert den anderen und der andere nimmt den einen auf. In einem zweiten Schritt digitaler Vermählung der beiden Bilder entsteht das endgültige Werk, welches den Anschein erweckt als ob es eine Inszenierung der beiden wäre, die von einer dritten Person aufgenommen worden sei.

Luca & Luigi, von denen im Herbst ein, ihr erotisches Zusammenleben dokumentierendes visuelles Tagebuch erscheint, erarbeiten in ihren großen in dramatischem Schwarz /Weiß gehaltenen Tableaus traumhaft surrealen Zuschnitts komplizierte Verkleidungs- und Beziehungsphantasien. Die klassische Ikonographie der alten Kunst wird spielerisch travestiert (Hl. Sebastian, Kain & Abel, die Fußwaschung Christi etc.), Märtyrer in die Gegenwart katapultiert, polymorph sexuelle Rituale vorgeführt.

Dabei erinnern diese Enkel Jean Cocteaus an die Zeigelust von Kindern, denen man nichts vorzuwerfen vermag. Sie sind Liebende in einem von ihnen errichteten Raum der Intimität, die eine Scham- und Ekelgrenze überwinden. Sie sind Subjekt und Objekt ihrer Kunst, wobei der autoerotische Charakter vieler Werke deutlich ist. Ihre „Vorführungen“ erscheinen sehr oft als obszön, sind gewöhnungsbedürftig, jedoch wie sie selbst festhalten, nie pornographisch.
Es ist gerade die Unbefangenheit und Schönheit ihres Tuns, welche uns gefangen nimmt".

I won't say that they copy for our images, there's a lot of images of boys shaving hair to eachother,
but if i look together the images there's something very similar that it's difficoult to call it a coincidence.

In the age of mass communication, where the majority of society as countless specimens reproduce the same message, cultural forms and insights about the order of life, situations on borderline between „normal" and abnormal, radical different identity are artists advantages. Sexually and social marginality gives different perspective, which is precondition to critical view and often a step towards creative originality. The price of being different frequently is society majority's incomprehension that can easily grow into the hate.

In the catholic Poland and rather prejudiced Latvia homosexuality is identity that place the artist in a position of radical protest, forcing to question the causes and expressions of generally approved rules.

Karol Radziszewski in his artistic activities does not reconstruct homosexual identity coming forward with alternatives for norms of behaviour. On the contrary - his works are rather a mirror that faces the heterosexual identity. Radziszewski deconstruct the comprehension of masculinity and heterosexuality that has deeply rooted into European culture and society's consciousness, particularly stressing that masculinity has been largely created as negative identity - contrary to female, gay and other sexualities. Modifying the usual context of masculinity code author invite to face its dark sides - the vulgarity and violence that escapes attention in regnant tendency to romanticize and discourse of normative passing over. Homophobia and sexual violence are two sides of one coin.

Each strata of society, even small groups are taken by different insights concerning perfection of a male, his sexual expressions and eventually what is a man. The society of all ages has its dominant masculinity model - ideal type that represents the universal concept of the majority. Playing with fixed forms of masculinity, Karol Radziszewski unmasks repressive mechanism, which serve as a base for construction of major comprehension in opposite to some marginal forms of masculinity.

With provocative message Radziszewski art projects bespeak irrational fear, the dark side of heterosexual culture. While film „Brokeback Mountain" and other popular culture's massages propose romanticized homosexuality as dramatized variation of heterosexual relationship, contemporary gay artists are aware of provocative potecial of their identity and use it for criticizing society's dominant comprehension about identity of individual and relations with other individuals.

Some say that love is about developing, that it is a dynamic condition that ties two people together, but when we try to conserve the shape, misunderstanding the original feeling, love turns into something else, the knot becomes a trap, attraction becomes rejection. We are facing the disaster without even understanding why. Love doesn’t set us free but keeps us stuck in a dramatic spiral, where at the end all that you get is to kill who you love. We feel like a last century Mormon couple living isolated from reality, with no way to escape. There’s no redemption: we are stuck.

Here is the answer that is been cut. Semiology of photography may be boring, but it was an interesting quote to make my statement on our way to see our images.

Why is it that you don't use any external crew?
Luigi : ‘Cause it’s all about the two of us. Assistants on the set would be a problem, I do not like to deal with people, it’s distracting. I want the final image to be a product of our strength without any external help. Everything begins and ends in the intimate space that exists between us that is mental more than physical.

Actually we do not even meet on the real set, our images are a collage of different images; we set the tripod then I take pictures of Luca and Luca of me. I create the final image, the one we had in mind, in the editing process by choosing and shaping all the elements according to my vision. The place where we meet is an ideal space that didn't exist in reality but just in our minds.

If we consider the status of photography , i mean the main specific aspect of its language, we can see it described in the well known sentence of Roland Barthes -Every photograph is a certificate of presence-.
The specificity of photography is determinated by the physical presence of a referent in front of the camera wich is the contingent. As Barthes said every photos are a document of something that –it’s been- and it was present in front of the camera at that moment.
I would say that through our creative process we wanna make a different statement.
We wanna say that our photography is a certificate of a presence of something that -it is-.
Our photos are a rappresentation of ourself out of any time line.

We are image manipulators but that doesn’t mean, especially after what I just said, that we find our manifesto in digital photography’s new possibilities, even if that is our elected medium. Actually, our process is similar to the one used in England in the late 1800s by the fathers of pictorialism, Gustaf Rejlander and Henry Peach Robinson. That’s our reference in the history of photography if I have to choose one.

In our process we are avoiding the description of the contingent and the casual elements that we don’t control cause we want to reflect an idea and a deeper representation of the reality. Most of the situations in our photography are staged and they don’t even exist on any set (except the ones were we have sexual interaction), but that doesn’t mean those situations are fake; they are even more real and pure.

I don’t want to sound too abstract or metaphisical, wich is kind of lame, but i would say that at the base of our images there’s a mythopoetic action with wich we shape our personal universe and we make it real.

"This Months Dazed is on point not only stylistically but editorally, i have to give it to Rod Stanley. I love the whole ideaology behind the shoot that Robbie Spencer did with Luigi & Luca, his work is so cultured that to truly admire his work you must delve deeper look at his refrences and understand where he is coming from, much like a piece of art.

Luigi & Luca are young artist's who's work i really like, to me its all about the celebration and liberation of youth, sexuality, homosexuality, intimacy and love. The work is in no way lewd or pornographic it ascends those degrading titles and genre simply beacuse of the perfect harmony and beauty the images portray. Their work is a exhultation of sex rather than an exploitation.

I love how Robbie put them with the photographer Holger Homann who's work is all about Male beauty, Homo-erotic but not overtly sexual. He removed the young artists from thir usual playgrounds and placed them in a studio where art is concie ved the art of a more well known artist Hans peter adamski atlier. "

“I believe the children are the future”, but “My Heart Belongs to Daddy”. Disrespectfully we turn the cheesy pop-sentimentality of family upside down in our production “Daddy”. Our DADDY is an 11-year-old boy, without a father, having become a father himself. His single mother, always ready for her close-up, becomes a cult follower and porn star for aliens – and naturally all of this with the best wishes for the son. “Daddy”, the new play by the American writer Travis Jeppesen, directed by the artist Ron Athey – we owe this extraordinary collaboration to CHEAP-co-founder and actress Susanne Sachsse, who likes to bring new artistic teams to HAU (CHEAP Blacky by Bruce LaBruce, 2007). Jeppesen’s perverse, quite surrealist drama explores the erotic reciprocity of care (mother/son, teacher/pupil, priest/parish) and questions the conventional labelling of intimacy.

Gilbert and George were in town for opening their solo exhibition at Arndt&Partner this weekend.
The exhibition features 20 big pieces from the Jack Freak Pictures. Their usual large-scale pictures that remind the medioeval church windows, this time are dominate by the 3 colors of the english flag, and by the recurring motives of medals,amulets, emblems, trees or the street map of East London, brickwork etc etc.
The presence of the artists function as stylized representatives of the individual in the society involved in his relationship with social norms, or the national, religious or sexual processes of identification. For make an examle the use of elements as boxers, gymnasts, runners and scouts evoke the national (late-victorian) masculin ideals wich is put in relationship with other references. In these pieces from the colors to the rapresentation everything show the abiguites of national pride: " The short distance between conformity to patriotism and social conditioning, for example; and the appropriatons of emblems of nationhood and national pride as an agressive badge of honour, denoting a confrontational fundamentalism." This serie shows different faces of nationhood and the sentient individual in the nets of society. It's also reflect fragments of social life that G&G find in their neighborhood, like the issues of intollerance, marginalization,but even of solidariety, or like the ethnic integration, the identification in national/personal values, or in general the proesses of an evolving society.
Michael Bracewell on the catalouge of the exhibition, describe these pictures as "the most iconic, philosophically astute and violent works that Gilbert&George have ever created.."

The concept is very interesting, and of course i love them, but i have to say that i prefer the ideas behind their pieces than these pieces themself... I guess my eyes are definitly looking for another kind of aesthetic and a different way of rappresentation. The use of specular images looks terrible to me, even worse than the self-ibridations of Orlan... i won't say it was expiring, but i enjoyed their talk and walk around the gallery; it was great meeting them again. I met them for the first time at their huge exhibition at the Tate Modern in 2007. I can tell they aged. After a few glasses of wine i was enough confident to steal a poster... but i had to pay for the catalogue.

who said Mrs Leibovitz isn't funny?

I do not know why i'm postng this but she's having money problem again. She borrowed $15.5 million from an art world 'pawnshop' last year and now she's facing bankruptcy

Leibovitz was sued by B2Pro Lighting company, which claimed she owed the company 392,036 dollars for rental services, damaged equipment and failure to deliver enough business to justify the discount rates she was receiving.

According to a source, though a judge dismissed a portion of the suit last month, the company still claims to be owed 189,170 dollars.

B2Pro lawyer Scott Markovitz revealed that the company is considering filing an involuntary bankruptcy petition against Leibovitz, if she fails to clear the overdue payment.

Come vi siete conosciuti?

Ci siamo incontrati a Firenze nel 2005, entrambi studiavamo lì, io mi stavo laureando in storia della fotografia e Luca frequentava il corso di pittura all'Accademia di belle arti. A dirla tutta, ci siamo conosciuti in un cruising club. Il luogo galeotto è stato lo storico Tabasco - dico storico perché è stato il primo locale gay in Italia. All'epoca io organizzavo una serata settimanale che si chiamava "Milked". Una sera che suonavo, Luca si avvicinò alla consolle e si presentò.....

about fascinations

In this period i'm fascinated by what is extreme.
I'm fascinated when people believes so much in something to build themselves complitly in that direction. This fascination ovviusly doesn't involve religions or corporate powers, wich is always mainstream and stupid, but in particular i see interesting all the movements that intend to overthrow the main scheme of things. Look someone being devoted to an aesthetic and a value so deeply is kind of refreshing to me. Now for what i see the youth doesn't seem so angry, everything is so politically correct even when they declare to be rebel. It's seems that everybody like the easy and pop way to be alternative and cool, nobody in this way doesn't really believe in what they are doing or in what they are being. So being hardcore is something that it doesn't really exist, there's no reason why. The No Global movement has radical opinions but there's not innovation in it, they are uninteresting. A big part of our generation identity come from the internet and its social potential, but at the end of the day Internet do not give freedom to people, it just gives an illusion and the feeling is that everybody is just happy with that. It's seems harder to find something to be really devoted and pasionate about. So those days i'm fascinated by very radical behaviors, like the political terrorists from the 70's, they are my favorites, or even old school punks, techno junkies from the 90's, body modificators, even if i'm not crazy about that and recently i'm fascinated by some hardcore heavy metal movements. For some reasons i still find them kinda ridicoulous but in general i'm fascinated by their crazyness and their intense look.

Last week i went to the opening of the Peter Beste exhibition at Pool Gallery here in Berlin, it's about the Norvegian Black Metal, in Norway it was a huge and impressive movement.
That is what he's saying:
"In the last two decades a bizarre and violent musical subculture called black metal has emerged in Norway. It's roots stem from a heady blend of horror films, extreme heavy metal music, Satanism, pagan mythology, and adolescent angst. In the early-mid 1990's, members of this extremist underground committed murder, burned down medieval wooden churches, and desecrated graveyards. What started as a juvenile frenzy came to symbolize the start of a war against Christianity, a return to the worship of the ancient Norse gods, and the complete rejection of mainstream society."

The show was great, it's easy doing cliche' photography on a subject like that, but every shots have a good balance between the costumes rappresentation and an external documentative point of view that intend to link the natural contest and the mysticism of the movement.
His eyes are free from schemes or judgimental thoughs, it's a pure documentary photography with a good sense of composition and tones. The catalogue is great.
I've meet one of the leader singer of one of this black metal band a few mounth ago here in Berlin, that's happen in a gay cruising bar, surprisly he's a fag.

Our images are more a reflection of an idea than a reflection of reality as it appears in front of the object. In these images we control and shape the reality according to our aesthetic and personal needs, avoiding, or filtering with a critical sense, the casual element that usually make photography an expression and a document of the contingent. The process we are going through is a reconstruction of reality where we redefine our space through a sort of mythopoeic act that intends to capture viewers’ senses before thoughts reach their minds.

In most of the works, Luigi sets up the shoot, and takes pictures of Luca with a tripod; then Luca takes pictures of Luigi. Afterward, we assemble meticulously the various parts in the editing process. It’s just the two of us. We don’t use a crew because our work intends to be an expression of our intimacy, which is, for the most part, spiritual. When we shoot, we do not meet each other as it’s shown in the image. Instead, we use digital photography and its manipulation devices as our instrument.

We often have problems for the explicit content of our images. Lately a French magazine was banned in Switzerland for publishing pictures of us pissing. In another incident, we were faced with police interdiction at the Mexican border because of our big prints, which were considered pornography, and as a result, were not allowed to enter the country. That happens a lot, and we strongly defend our work from this accusation—not because we have something against pornography; we don’t—but because it’s mystification; it’s a wrong way to categorize our images.

The main distinction is that pornography follows a centrifugal motion that condenses all the interaction with the viewer on a fulcrum that is, and always will be, the sexual act and the excitement. Our images, however, function with an opposite dynamic.
They follow a different motion that is centripetal. It may start on a sexual act, but then it goes further, broadening its fruition among emotions, myths, citations, the harmonic compositions, even along the elegance of the black-and-white, and through our personal universe, which is an imaginary place where we are the subjects and the “shaper.” The senses and the sexual desire of the body play a big part in our work because they represent our real intimacy. We consider our bodies as the field where we start a discussion and examine our approach to the world and its values. That’s why sex in our work is never ludic, funny, or ironic, as it is often presented in the last few years in art or fashion photography. Sex, for us, is damn serious; it’s almost political. All we do is trying to assert the weight of our bodies

We decided to tally the data to find out. We analyzed the entire timeline of killings of Palestinians by Israelis, and killings of Israelis by Palestinians, in the Second Intifada, based on the data from the widely-respected Israeli Human Rights group B'Tselem (including all the data from September 2000 to October 2008).

We defined "conflict pauses" as periods of one or more days when no one is killed on either side, and we asked which side kills first after conflict pauses of different durations. As shown in Figure 2, this analysis shows that it is overwhelmingly Israel that kills first after a pause in the conflict: 79% of all conflict pauses were interrupted when Israel killed a Palestinian, while only 8% were interrupted by Palestinian attacks (the remaining 13% were interrupted by both sides on the same day). In addition, we found that this pattern -- in which Israel is more likely than Palestine to kill first after a conflict pause -- becomes more pronounced for longer conflict pauses. Indeed, of the 25 periods of nonviolence lasting longer than a week, Israel unilaterally interrupted 24, or 96%, and it unilaterally interrupted 100% of the 14 periods of nonviolence lasting longer than 9 days.

And the better things get, the deeper in debt he is. And the circle can never be broken. So why doesn't he just make his own carts? It would be easy enough. Only by the time he comes to this simple conclusion, the law, the courts and the police are all in the cart borrowing enforcement business.

i walk around before the sun go down, from the time that i get up, i just have 1 hour or 2 of sun, so i go outside seeking for a nice coffee and a slice of sun to bright my day. After that i'm just sitting in front my mac, and when it's all done, i'm wondering how much time was waste.
The sense that has my life these days is like the sound when i'm walking on the snow in the cemetery...at the end it just feel like that.

It may be that i was growing up in the 90's listen to goth music and put black make-up under my eyes, but i always been fascinated by cemeteries.In my 20's I spend many afternoons reading at the protestant english cemetry in Florence when i was living there for my studies, it was magical, an island of graves in the middle of the city. Just a few know that but the young daugther of the german painter Bocklin is barried there, and he used the sembiance of this cemetery as a model for his famous painting -the island of dead- . When i was living in London in Earl's court a few years ago when i was taking courses at the Central Saint Martins, i was always going to recover from my chemical hangover to the Brompton cemetry .
It became my favorite place in London, it seems that nobody touched it from decades, the grass grow tall everywhere, and the complete state of decadence is making sense and it talks more about life than death, i was laying on some hiden graves smoking joints and watching the planes landing on the near Luton airport. The most incredible thing it was a gay cruising spot at the futher part of the cemetery, I really thought it made complete sense. death and life were so close to each other in that place that sometimes i could not perceive the delimitation between the two. expecially if i was still rolling.
And of course when i was living in Paris in my punky/gothy year it was ovvious going to take a walk at the Pere lachaise or in the cemetery of Moparnasse or Montmartre , but that was more a v.i.p. necrophile stalking. Being nears the bones of Chopin, Delacroix, Oscar Wilde or Sara Bernhardt made me feel less human. it always been emotionals promenades.
Just before I found this pictures of me and luca, it has more than 3 years, we were not even together yet,
we were in Milan for the show of Bauhaus and the day before we went take a walk and pictures at the Monumental cemetry
,I think I never came back there, it's a beautifull place to visit, in the 800 Milan was a very powerfull and important city, you can feel it there.

We was kissing for fun we weren't even dating at this point, and we weren't aware to be victim of this eros and thanatos syndrom that always put me in this state when i'm in a cemetery. Well it doesn't mean that i like jacking off on graves, it just mean that i feel an intense pulsion of life in these places.
Well i just wrote all that just for say that today i went to take a walk in a cemetery near where we live in Berlin, and then i discover that it was build just on the line of the Berlin wall, it was used as a base to the soviets police to control the border between the west and and the east Berlin, infact a lot of coffins were removed then . I saw very impressive pictures of that place at the time.
It's wierd to think how serious were those delimitations not even 20 years ago. i try to concentrate hard but still i can't understand what it was really meaning be separate from a part of the world. I'm from another generations, i would not understand anyway, the world i use to know is so different. Be present here, in the grave of opposite ideologies, as it was be present in Madrid a place traced by the most recent dictatoreship in Europe, make me feel closer to an emotional contest that doesn't belong to me, and that i can't understand.
those towns are cemetery of illusions and here i feel better the pulsion of life and its drama.

You can see the Sophien-Friedhof cemetery behind and the rest of the wall, actually there were 2 walls, and a space in between. In this point Ida Siekmann was shot to death the 22 august 1961 when she was trying to escape from the east side. she was the first victim of the wall.

What is good and clever is the European Union proposal for a United Nations declaration that formally condamn
"discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity". France, which sits at the moment at the EU Presidency, is due to submit the draft declaration at the UN General Assembly on 10 December, the sixtieth anniversary of the UN declaration of human rights.

What is very badly wrong and fucking unbelivable is that Vatican opposes the UN resolution with reasons that even the right wing filo-chatolic italian newspapers La Stampa called “grotesque” and Franco Grillini founder of Arcygay called as “total idiocy and madness”.

However the Vatican fiercely condamed the proposition cause "If adopted, they would create new and implacable discriminations, for example, states which do not recognise same-sex unions as 'matrimony' will be pilloried and made an object of pressure."
The main left-wing newspaper La Repubblica said the Vatican's position "leaves one dumbstruck" and Margherita Boniver of the Democratic Party, called it "alarmingly anachronistic".

I just call it un-fucking-believable!

The propose do not even say a word about same-sex marriage and it's far 'to force countries to recognise' it. This act is about homophobia, discrimination and human rights and it intends to make pressure on the countries where be homosexual is a crime.
French Foreign Ministry Eric Chevallier explains that "France's initiative ... is an initiative that is based on existing texts. The idea is not to create new rights. The idea is ... to make decriminalization possible"

Over 90 countries in the world currently outlaw homosexual relations.

Of course the Vatican is not alone in his battle, it has plenty of support. The pope can be very friendly with muslims when it's about discrimination, as when on a conference on the family in Cairo in 1994, the Vatican teamed up with Islamic and Latin American countries to defeat an abortion rights proposal.
Grillini is talking about an "Holy Alliance" between the Vatican and Islamic states at the United Nations to oppose the proposed resolution. That's probably too unreal to be true but
this time ovviusly the Vatican didn't make any sense. That was too wrong to be ignored.

"People thought we were just Victorian queens who wanted to make little kitten paintings on pillows and be kitschy," said David McDermott, what they are doing is very different from that and i love their work.
I saw their show at the maison européenne de la photographie here in Paris and i guess it was one of my favorite exhibition of the mounth of photography.
the choise of McDermott & McGough was to refuse present and set the clock back at the begining of the last century.
their clothes, their house, their lifestyle, are part of an everending performace where they are typicly men of 1900. Ovviusly the photography they produce follow the same attitude and it's made using an original 10'' x 8'' developing with the technics of the moment: palladium, gum, salt and cyanotype prints. All it's based upon the light sensitivity of ferric salts all it's chemistry and question of handy.
I've been study quite a bit Victorian photography for my degree and a few years ago i've been taking a class at the Central Saint Martin of London on different methods of developing pictures, we went throught all these ancians methods, i know how hard it is, and i love the feeling of the final images, everything it's so crafty and selfmade that makes me ask a lot of question about the fine unpersonal math of digital photography.
David McDermott and Peter McGough's photography may seems useless as an exercize of style, but they are not just repeting or saying something it was already said, they add a different factor to this anachronism and they make me think a lot.
I've heard them talking at the radio and David said that at the age of 13 he understood that he would not be albe to compete in the modern world , and he thought it was better go backward learning everything from the past than failing learning things about the future.

McDermott was born in Hollywood, California, in 1952, although he spent the majority of his childhood in New Jersey. McGough was born in 1958 in Syracuse, New York, where he lived until moving to New York City to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology in 1977. Coincidentally, David attended Syracuse University studying Advertising Design in the 1970s but their paths never crossed until they were both living in New York City a few years later. They have exhibited widely internationally and were nominated for the Glen Dimplex Award at the Irish Museum of Modern Art in 1998. Previous exhibitions include the Frankfurt Kunstverein 1986 and the Whitney Biennial, New York, in 1987, 1991 and 1995. In 1997 the duo mounted a mid-career retrospective exhibition at the Provincial Museum voor Moderne Kunst, Oostende, Belgium.

The american costitution was chanced with the proposition 8, and it's now written black on white that marrige is just between a man and a woman, that it doesn't really sound as a 2008 sentence. is that a progress? we are still making a big deal on something as the black people have the same chances of whites, that was declared in 1964 with the civil right act, how long gay people should wait to have the chaces that everybody else have?

To welcome us back to Italy there is a very tense situation cause a wierd school reform was approved by the Goverment. More than a didattic reform is a big economic cut on the istruction and the reserch, just to save some money on something they think it's not fondamental. This will lead the university to a privatization.
I really do not know how the minister think this reform will fix the problems of the italian education... if she cares...

now that we are back home we have time to re-elaborate all what we've done during the last 3 mounths in U.S. and Mexico.
Here some backstage pictures of a short movie (relased next year) shooted in San Francisco by the video artist David Jude, he's a dear special friend who let us squat in his house for weeks. He realized videos for one of our favorites bands, Bauhaus and in these days expecially with David Jay (Bauhaus' bassist for his solo project). We had a lot of fun shooting,

The other day i was watching Ellen DeGeneres Show and Kanye West was there to show his new video. Key Data and Concepts

A brief summary of the key events of this year leading up to the present terminal crisis of the global financial system can be very enlightening and revealing:

January 2008: Countrywide Financial bank collapses (assets US$ 172 billion)

March 2008: Investment bank Bear Stearns (assets for $399 billion) collapses and is acquired by JPMorgan Chase through a FED-funded credit for u$s 30 billion. On March 7, the FED offers up to u$s 200 billion in 28-day loans to banks and large financial institutions. On March 11, the FED offers investment banks up to $200 billion in Treasury Securities in exchange for mortgage-backed securities. On March 21st, the European Central Bank offered up to u$s 24 billion in loans to help banks shore up balance sheets. The Bank of England in turn offers up to u$s 10 billion in loans.

April 2008: Commercial bank IndyMac Bancorp collapses (assets for $32.3 billion). German bank Düsseldorfer Hypotheken Bank (assets for u$s 42.5 billion) collapses. July 2008: UK bank Alliance & Leicester (assets for $153.40 billion) collapses. Danish bank Roskilde Bank (assets for u$s 7.9 billion) collapses.

7 September 2008: The US's two largest mortgage agencies - Freddie Mac (assetsts for u$s 879 billion) and Fannie Mae (assets for u$s 885.9 billion) are taken over by the FED, at a direct cost of u$s 200 billion, and the US Governement now owns their u$s 5.4 trillion combined debt

15 September 2008: The US's fourth largest investment bank, Lehman Brothers (assets for u$s 966.2 billion) collapses. At the same time, investment bank Merrill Lynch (assets for u$s 639.4 billion) is bailed out by Bank of America at a cost of u $s 50 billion (unofficially funded by the FED, considering Bank of America did not have funds for such an acquisition)

16 September 2008: The central banks of the US, European Union UK, Japan, Switzerland and Canada set up a u$s 180 billion emergecy currency swap fund

17 September 2008: The largest insurance company in the US and the world, American International Group (AIG) (assets for u$s 1.050 trillion), is nationalized 80% by the FED at a cost of u$s 85 billion. The decision to salvage this insurance company (a decision that should have been taken by State insurance commissioners, not the FED) lies in the fact that it would have dragged down key banks like Goldman Sachs. This explains why Goldman's CEO Lloyd C. Blankfein, was the only Wall Street banker invited to participate in the last minute bail-out talks by FED governor Bernard B. Bernanke and Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson. Notably, before becoming George W Bush's Treasury Secretary in June 2006, Paulson was CEO of Goldman Sachs, at which time he was replaced by Blankfein.

19 September 2008: Henry Paulson, Bernard Shalom Bernanke and Christopher Cox (chairman of the Securities & Exchange Commission - SEC) submitted to Congress an urgent 3-page Bail-out Plan (similar in style to Argentina's "financial armouring" of December 2000 which paved the way for 2001's total financial meltdown), to the tune of u$s 700 billion which is supposed to stop further banking and financial failures in the US and worldwide. The urgency of the matter could be read in their panicky faces nut the bill crashed in the House of Rerpesentative which rejected it ob 22-Sept-08. It has since then grown to a 450-page dossier, now approved by the Senate and being resubmitted to the House.

Paulson and Bernanke seek "superpowers" from Congress, similar to the ones that former economy minister Domingo Cavallo wrenched from Argentina's Congress in 2001, which led to total collapse. In various declarations, president George W Bush stressed time and again the dire situation of this "national emergency". When asked how the amount of u$s 700 billion was arrived at, Bernanke replied that it represents 5% (!!!) of mortgages that have become non-performing. Independent analysts, however, reckon that this 5% is insufficient to cover all bail-outs and that we need to look at 10, 15 or 20 percent of non-performing mortgages, which would turn bail-out figures into unfathomable amounts. Rejection of the bail-out plan on "Bloody Monday" led to a collapse of the Dow Jones Industrial Index by 778 points (more than 7%) and a 16% fall for financial institutions. Not surprisingly, in their 21st September edition the London newspaper "The Daily Telegraph" pointed out that we may be edging towards a US Government default on its entire u$s 13.5 trillion debt.

The two remaining investment banks still considered to be "healthy" - ie}.e., prestigious Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley - decided to voluntarily become commercial banks, and thus accept greater regulatory scrutiny. This means they will need to very quickly and orderly reduce their loan portfolios which they overly expanded through fractional lending, as described above. Meanwhile and as a transitory emergency measure, financier Warren Buffet took a u$s 5 billion stake in Goldman Sachs to help it become "more healthy", a clear indication of just how critical the situation is.

22 September 2008: After a strange period of silence regarding its situation as a major bank, CitiGroup finally appeared on the scene helping to engineer two bank bail-outs: Washington Mutual Savings & Loan (the largest thrift in the US with assets for u$s 309.7 billion), and Wachovia Bank (assets for u$s 812.4 billion), although Wachovia is having second thoughts and may strike a deal with Wells Fargo..

September 22nd to 30th: The contagion crosses the Atlantic sending Europe into a crisis with a series of domino-like bank collapses:

Fortis (Franch-Belgium banking and insurance consortium with asssets for u$s 1.533 billion is bailed out by the governments of Belgium, The Netherlands and Luxembourg Bradford & Bigley (major UK Savings & Loans association is rescued by the Spanish Santander Group at a cost of $30 billion, assets: $104 billion), Hypo Real Estate AG (a German bank bailed out by the government at a cost of $50 billion - with assets for $622.2 billion), Dexia (another Franco-Belgian bank rescued by the respective governments - Price tag. $9.2 billion - assets $913 billion),

Glitnir (a major Islandic bank nationalized 75% by the government at a cost of $900 billion; assets for u$s 48.9 billion). Clearly, these amounts are truly staggering as in their aggregate they are greater than the United States's Gross Domestic Product, which gives a taste of things to come, considering that rumours of further banks failures on both sides of the Atlantic still continue: UniCredit, a pan-European bank based in Italy, which owns the German HypoVereinsbank and the Bank Austria.

UBS based in Zurich, Switzerland, and National City Corporation, Downey Financial Corporation and Sovereign Bancorp, of the United States All these and more have high risk exposures to "toxic" mortgage securities, to use the charming term coined by Bernanke from the FED... Lastly, major press media and international analysts insist that the bill for these bail-outs will fall on "US Taxpayers" through future tax hikes. This is clearly only a half-truth. The full truth is that, as far as the US is concerned, the bulk of these bail-outs will be paid with even more uncontrolled monetary emission by the FED, which will further erode the value of the Dollar. In short, the cost for this desaster will be paid by companies, governments and individuals who have US-Dollar denominated assets throughout the world, and not just by the "American Taxpayers"

Plausible Scenarios

The crisis affecting the global financial system based on parasitic speculation and usury is a terminal crisis. It can no longer be solved through purely financial and monetary mechanisms and measures. If US authorities only concentrate on this type of measure, then a truly serious collapse is imminent and unavoidable.

A more pragmatic view of the global and US power structures, however, indicates that the US will not just stand by whilst this occurs, allowing the demise of the US as a global superpower. The US will not just turn-off the lights, and go home as the Soviet Nomenklatura did in the early nineties. No sir. They're gonna put up a hell of fight!! And that is a problem for all the peoples of the world, as well as for the people of the United States themselves. In this sense, we envision several scenarios out of which we have singled out three clearly defined scenarios which must no doubt have their respective alternative action plans to address this growing crises:

Plan A (i.e., addressing a relatively low intensity crisis through basically financial measures) -

This envisions continuing on-going negotiations between the FED, Treasury Dept., Congress, major bankers, European and Asian central bankers seeking further measures to stop further black-holes and bank failures, lobbying for further u$s 700 billion bail-out plans to be wrenched out of Congress and elsewhere. This will serve to control the crisis in the days and weeks to come by helping banks in trouble, including medium-sized banks anf foreign banks operating in the US (e.g. your HSBC's, Barclays', Deutsche Bank's and others), and most important, the remaining major Mega-banks like Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan Chase and CitiGroup. The immediate effect of this will be that there will be drastic and far-reaching crisis management through financial and monetary measures. At the same time, new rules of the game will be dealt in Wall Street and Washington. The practical result will be massive transference of wealth away from small investors, pension funds, small stockholders, etc., and into the hands of the usual cabal of bankers, institutional investors, speculators and financial parasites.

Plan B (i.e., addressing a medium intensity crisis through financial and monetary measures) -

If Congress does not approve the bail-out plan, or significantly limits it, or even if Congress does approves it, it were to prove insufficient in the days and weeks to come with a further spate of major banking and insurance company failures, then the US Government - i.e., the Fed and Treasury Dept. - might very well declare a "National Economic Emergency" and introduce a totally new currency.

No, not the "Amero" which is a smoke-screen rumour, but rather something far more straight to the point: a "New Dollar" which, contrary to the present devalued dollar, would be Gold-backed, however not by just any gold: it will be 9999 proof gold bullion, with some sort of 100% fool-proof security factor - e.g., either an embedded chip or hologram that will transform it into "Global Reserve Gold", or financially "sacred" gold - that will have a value maybe ten times higher than normal "profane" Gold. At the same time, an extended banking holiday will be declared in order to implement the change of currency (just as happened in Argentina several times in recent history, notably when former president Alfonsín introduced the "Austral" to replace the highly devalued peso).

Transition to the new currency will be at terms highly beneficial for those banks, companies, citizens, allies and other "preferred allies and friends" of the US who will get One New Dollar for each "old" dollar. Then, certain powerful holders of dollar-denominated instruments - cash, US Treasury Bills and Bonds, and the like - will be given some preferential treatment based on specific US geopolitical and geoeconomic interests such as, for example, the governments and interests of the European Union, Japan, maybe China, and specific institutions and global corporations who will be able to change their old dollars for New Dollars at acceptable rates of exchange, say 2, 3 or 4 old dollars for every New Dollar.

For the rest of dollar-holders - i.e., vast numbers of private investors in all parts of the world in countries in Latin America, Central Europe, the Muslim World, Africa, etc. - the US Government will simply say that their respective local markets will need to determine how many old dollars will buy a New Dollar, and that this will be governed by the market forces of supply and demand. We will then see currency traders of all shapes and sizes offering One New Dollar for every 8, 10, or 20 old dollars in the hands of desperate masses of people trying to get rid of those creased green-backed bits of paper of falling value.(5)

The immediate effect of this would be to further spread the socializing of US banking losses into emerging markets and weaker economies outside of the United States (i.e., New Dollar would allow the bankers to selectively export the US currency's inflationary erosion towards specific regions and segments of the world).

Plan C (i.e., addressing a high intensity crisis through geopolitical and miitary measures) -

If the US authorities cannot resolve the crisis with financial, monetary and economic measures, and increasing internal social violence and political insecurity were to affect the US and its key allies, then the crisis will go into geopolitical and military mode. If an extended banking holiday is forced upon the Bush administration, freezing banking accounts, deposits, ATM machines (just like the "Corralito" - i.e., the "baby play pen" - that Argentina suffered starting 1st December 2001 generating unimaginable hardship to our country), this may later lead to trying to resolve the problem on a the international geopolitical stage by "kicking the chessboard".

This means escalating the overall conflict to political, diplomatic and military planes, fueling a generalized global war which New World Order planners seem to believe will allow them to use vast resources for war, placing the focus away from the on-going financial crisis. This will lead to imposing strict limitations on all civil liberties in the US and elsewhere, and even suspending the Constitution (We Argentines certainly know a lot about that too!).

"National Security" will be the blanket excuse at a time of grave internal emergency, and will be used to justify unilateral invasions of countries and regions in different parts of the world. In short, mobilizing the country and its allies in its material resources, whilst the collective psyche is coaxed on the need to "defend" the country against some elusive "enemy" (new or old terrorist organization suitably demonized). One of the results that would be sought would be to re-stabilize the economiy and financial system gearing it on a re-intensified military-industrial complex where the US has an unmatched position - foreign wars are always good to steer attention away from domestic troubles.

The immediate effect of this would very likely consist of a unilateral military attack on Iran with the excuse of destroying its nuclear program , that would probably be triggered by a unilateral Israeli attack on Iran's nuclear facilities once they get a green light from Washington. This would quickly bring the US into the war with incalculable consequences. Worse still, we may see a carefully orchestrated False Flag mega-attack (i.e., an attack organized or prompted by the New World Order power structures themselves, designed to put the blame on Iran or Islamic organizations, or whatever, so that it can be used as an excuse for a unilateral attack against Iran, Syria and elsewhere).

Such a False-Flag attack might take place on American soil or against US interests anywhere in the world, or those of key US allies, and would make 9/11 look like a mere bonfire in comparison. The New World Order media would ensure that global public opinion believe that Iran in particular, and the Muslim world as a whole, are responsible for such an attack and thus justify a whole series of "counter-attacks", invasions and wars. No doubt, Russia would also become involved recking havoc throughout Central Europe thus weakening the European Union.

A generalized war in the Middle East would be sufficient excuse to pass legislation to free up oil reserves in Alaska, justify invading Venezuela's oil fiels, militarize the South Atlantic continental platform in the Brazilian and Argentine maritime regions where gigantic oil reserves lie untapped and where the US Navy's IVth Fleet is already roaming, amongst many other things. China, India and Pakistan will no doubt have important roles to play and if tactical nuclear artefacts are used, then this would turn into a veritable nuclear world war which no one knows how it will continue and end.

This summary merely sets out some information, patterns and conclusions which help stress the extremely grave times all Mankind is presently living under. Its result will deeply affect the whole world. We offer these ideas as a sort of initial exercise in Global Risk Management, hoping that it will serve as a starting point to promote better and greater strategic planning exercises amongst public and private organizations in Argentina and elsewhere.

Even though Argentina's very mediocre ruling class - both in Government and in the so-called "Opposition" - hardly understand nor fathom the true significance of what is taking place in the world, the truth is that this crisis opens incredilble new vistas for Argentina and our region. We would have the opportunity of making an unprecedented Quantum Leap, however in order to take advantrage of these opportunities, we need to fully comprehend how the New World Order power structures actually work, in what refers to their political, economic, financial and monetary dynamics, objetives and methods. We strive that Argentine public opinion should begin to understand all of this as quickly as possible; hence the uregency of the matter.

Either way, the days and weeks to come will be very transcendental for all Mankind. Let us all be very alert...

I just care about the work of Ryan Mcg. wich is good. i like the dark grey atmopheres wich are different from what he usually do. great images.
For what concerne Wrangler i guess they need some serious focus groups, and some stronger ideas than this... sound like my granma who's trying to be modern.....-we are animals- ? please...
they should really thanks those images to put the campaign to a higher level.

Imax experience

Yesterday night i went to see The Dark Knight on a Imax Theater in San Francisco,(The IMAX screen is 22 metres (72 ft) wide and 16.1 metres (53 ft) high, Dark Knight features six sequences (a total of 30 minutes) shot using IMAX technology).
i was so amazed looking the action in such a big screen with such a great resolution that i didn't even thought if i was liking the movie or not.... probably is what those Imax movies are all about.
But for sure i apreciate it most than others comic adaptation .
What's is really amazing in this movie is the performance of Heath Ledger,whow, greater than the screen. that's what those 17dollars was worthed for.
